April 27, 1924-April 22, 2014

Zephyr Marie Jernigan Tookes of Duncan passed away April 22 in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ on Magnolia, with Bro. McDowell officiating.

A mother’s love is something that no one can explain.

Preceding her in death was lovely Mother Bertha Jernigan, her husband John H. Tookes as well as her two older brothers, Celester Lloyd Jernigan and Lester Lee Jernigan and her sister Willie B. Lilly, also known as Aunt BeBe May.

Survivors are her son John W. Tookes, granddaughters Tamika Tookes and Lakura Barber, great-grandchildren Tamia Flowers, Keondre Culberson, Tre’von Tookes, Chase Beatle, Marcus Beatle and Johnathan Beatle as well as other nieces and nephews.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
