Marlow opens park for limb disposal

MARLOW — The City of Marlow will maintain Eddie Palmer Park for public limb disposal. The hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays in January (Jan. 11, 18 and 25).

The park will be open to all Marlow residents with down limbs within the city limits.

“We have monitored the activity over the last couple of weeks and determined that the heavier volume of loads coming into the site are on Saturdays,” Jason McPherson, Marlow city administrator, said. “To keep overtime costs lower, the site will be open on Saturday only for the remainder of the month before closing for good.”

Following the closure of the disposal site, city crews will begin pick-up of limbs for those who do not have means to haul their limbs away.

“If you can haul your limbs to the disposal site, we ask that you do,” McPherson said. “Our crews will begin the clean-up for those who are not able in February, but that will be a slow process. We ask that our residents be patient.”
