Comanche chamber to meet Wednesday

COMANCHE — The Comanche Chamber of Commerce will have its first meeting since the April Chamber Banquet on Wednesday at noon at Patterson Avenue Baptist Church.

It will be Trent Young’s first meeting as chamber president.

In April, Young said he had “big shoes to fill” as former president Bruce Akins stepped down from the position.

Young said his first meeting as president will be preparing for the rest of the year, starting committees for the chamber’s annual events.

“There are several things we do every year,” Young said. “We have our annual banquet, a community pep rally, Easter egg hunt and a golf tournament for local charities. We’re going to get everything set and start brainstorming.”

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
