Karen Rebecca White

July 22, 1947 – May 28, 2014

COMANCHE — Karen Rebecca White, age 66, a longtime resident of Comanche peacefully passed away early Wednesday morning May 28, 2014 in Duncan Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Southerland officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.

Karen was born on July 22, 1947 in Duncan to Buck and Irma Earnest. She was a 1965 graduate of Empire High School. She married Don White in June, 1968 in Lawton. Karen worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Pier One Marine. She later worked at Comanche Public School as a secretary with the nutrition department. Karen had a huge heart, she never met a stranger and she was always the life of the party.

Survivors include her son, Jon White and wife Christy, of Duncan; three grandchildren: Emilee White of Bethany; Katy Grace White and Cade White, both of Duncan; one nephew, Jeff Martinez and wife Pam, of Pennsylvania; two great-nieces and a great-nephew: Sarah, Laura Beth and Jeremy; her Empire Class of ‘65, who she considered family; as well as countless very close friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, her sister, Jenny Martinez, brother-in-law, Joe Martinez and a special niece, Jill Martinez.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
