Noon Lions Club cowboys up for rodeo

DUNCAN — Local families are encouraged to bring the whole herd to the Noon Lions Club Rodeo’s opening night tonight.

The rodeo is offering a discounted family night rate of $10 for two adults and three children. Otherwise, the price for tickets is $8 at the gate for adults and $3 for children between the ages of four and 12.

Rodeo Chairman Joe Henderson said family night is a 13-or-14-year tradition.

The rodeo will be held in the Claude Gill arena of the Stephens County Fair and Expo Center.

Friday will be $1 corn dog day at the rodeo, in which children who purchase one can enjoy their corn dog and a ticket to Saturday night’s show. Each dollar goes to provide food for children.

Henderson said this is the first year for the corn dog promotion, but a similar one last year raised approximately $900.
