Debra Ruth Wade

April 8, 1956 - June 12, 2014

DUNCAN — Duncan native residing in Oklahoma City, Debra "Debbie" Ruth Wade, 58 passed away June 12, 2014 after a struggle with Breast Cancer in Tacoma, Wash.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 22, 2014 with the Rev. Jennifer Steil officiating.

The family will visit with friends following the service.

Debbie was born April 8, 1956 in Duncan to Wayne and Rebecca Miller.  She graduated from Duncan High School in 1974 and was a member of the Lucky Circle social club. She attended college at the University of Oklahoma where she pledged Tri Delta sorority. While in college she met her future husband Mark D. Wade and the two were wed October 23, 1978 in Norman.  After college they moved back to Duncan, where they had three children together: David Hunter Wade, Mary Rebecca Wade, and Laura Virginia Wade.  During those years she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, and enjoyed participating in Bible schools, youth club activities, and Christians Concerned food ministry.  Later, she was thankful to have a bridge club consisting of special friends from high school and church.  She was happiest spending time with her family, especially her three children and grandson. While she loved the family vacations to Colorado and summer trips to Lake Texoma, she was most fulfilled by the everyday aspects of being a mom: supporting her children’s activities, cooking with them, and shopping with her daughters. Her love overflowed to many of her children’s friends who referred to her as “mom” and to her many lucky pets.  Her move to Oklahoma City allowed her to have a special relationship with her brother’s children.  She became a valuable, irreplaceable member of their family. Her co-workers at each job she held were also blessed with her abundant love. It’s safe to say that her favorite thing in the entire world was spending time with her prized grandson for whom she held unconditional love for and who has inherited her sense of humor.  She was a faithful Christian who found solace in Christ. She faced her last trials from beginning to end with an uncomplaining, brave, and hopeful heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Miller.  She is survived by her son, David Hunter Wade and wife Brooke Bonner of Stillwate, daughter, Mary Rebecca Wade Isham and husband Jenson Isham of Tacoma, Wash., daughter, Laura Virginia Wade and fiancé Ryan Stubbs of Duncan; her grandson, Wade Jenson Isham of Tacoma, Wash. She is also survived by her father, Wayne Miller and wife Beverly Miller of Duncan,  as well as her brother, Wayne Miller and wife Angie Miller along with her nephew, James Miller and niece, Sophie Miller.
