John H. Greenroyd

Aug. 21, 1923-June 2, 2014

DUNCAN — John H. Greenroyd 90, of Oklahoma City, formally of Duncan, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Baptist Village Nursing Center in Oklahoma City.

Graveside Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday,  June 6, 2014 at the Duncan Cemetery with Chaplin Chris Finley officiating and assisted by Rev. Randy Southerland, interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

John was born Aug. 21, 1923 at Alma to Charles and Wilma (Thacker) Greenroyd, John served during W.W. ll serving in the European Theater at Normandy Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. John worked as a Drilling Engineer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  John married Lavada Cash in June 1948 in Duncan. Lavada preceded him in death Feb. 16, 2012.

John is survived by daughters; Sharon Ulmer of Oklahoma City, Billie Kay Roberts of Comanche, a sister; Ruby Fine of Duncan, grandchildren; John Ulmer and his wife Annushka, James Ulmer and his wife Jennifer, Traci Dyer, Keither Foster and Sharla Foster, great-grandchildren; Peyton Ulmer, Amber Ulmer, Sasha Ulmer, Bobby Dyer, Eric Foster, Tony Dyer, Kaylie Dyer, Montana McGuire, Jordan Howell and Josh Howell.

John was preceded in death by his wife; Lavada, a daughter; Karen Greenroyd and his parents Charles & Wilma Greenroyd.
