DUNCAN — Alvin McMurray, 81, of Duncan, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Duncan.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Terry Holliday officiating.

Survivors include a daughter, Robin Kessinger of Duncan, sons Kenneth Williams of Golden, Colo., Mark McMurray, David McMurray, John McMurray all of Fresno, Cali., sisters Pansy Pyle and Ruth Ann Berry of Indiana, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

    Despite facing a rigorous schedule, Duncan was picked by VYPE’s preseason football preview to return to the postseason after a one-year hiatus.
    With new coach Craig Benson taking over this season, the magazine predicted Duncan will finish fourth in Class 5A District 1 ahead of Chickasha and behind Ardmore. The Demons are also ranked as the No. 16 team in the Class, with Lawton Mac being the highest ranked team in the district at No. 4.
