DUNCAN — On Florida’s white sands, Ginger McCray and Jose E. Lebron married on March 13, 2013.
The bride is the daughter of former Duncan residents Holly McCray, now of Oklahoma City, and the late Douglas McCray. The groom is the son of Maria Jose Callejas of Houston and Jose R. Lebron of New Orleans.
With ocean as backdrop, the couple exchanged vows beneath a bamboo arch, draped with white sheers and centered by a blue-and-white floral burst. Officiant was the Rev. Randy Mitchell of Bixby, formerly of Duncan. The wedding rings were presented on a 1950 Bible, given by the bride’s grandfather to the bride’s grandmother on their wedding day.
Escorted by her mother, the bride wore a strapless mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline. Bands of organza encircled the fitted bodice and more organza billowed in the multi-layered skirt and train. She wore a flower in her hair and carried tiny blue flowers interspersed with white feathers.
Maid of honor was Catherine Brunet of Denton, Texas, formerly of Duncan. Bridesmaids were Emily Evangelista of Orlando, Fla., and Mindy Black of Fayetteville, Ga. Junior bridesmaids were Michelle Marks of Valencia, Calif., and Brynn Reynolds of Houston, Texas, cousins of the bride. Malibu blue was featured in each attendant’s style choice.
Best man was Roberto Lebron of Denton, the groom’s brother. Groomsmen were Lewis McCray of Houston, the bride’s cousin, and Jimmy Hayes of Orlando.
In a pavilion at the beach locale, Honeymoon Island, the wedding party and guests enjoyed eating dinner, watching the sun set and dancing. Tables draped in white were centered by large white candle lanterns, shells, and starfish, all nestled in the folds of blue scarves.
On the blue wedding cake, white fondant shells and flowers embellished every tier.
The groom’s uncle and aunt, Juan and Dixie Callejas, hosted the two families March 12 at a dinner in their Tampa home.
After a honeymoon cruise, the newlyweds are at home in metropolitan Orlando, where they are professional photographers.
