Gooden — Sparks

DUNCAN — Joni Lynn Gooden and Ryan Keith Sparks, both of Stillwater, exchanged wedding vows at 6 p.m. March 10, 2012, in First Christian Church with Daniel Litchford of Irving, Texas, officiating.

Bride’s parents are Bill and Susan Gooden of Duncan. Her grandparents are Peggy Luckett of Duncan and Max and Lucy Alexander of Kilgore, Texas.

Groom’s parents are Jim and Angie O’Daniel of Stillwater and Bryan Sparks of Duncan. His grandparents are H.L. and Juanita Sparks, Dan and Debbie Spect, Linda Pollack, all of Duncan; Bruce Dixon of Weatherford, Jo O’Daniel and Bonnie Hendricks, both of Stillwater.

Music was provided by Fletcher Gibbs, who played “Over the Hills and Far Away” on guitar as the bride was escorted by her father. Bill Gooden Sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and Denise Hooper was the pianist and sang “In Christ Alone.”

The altar was decorated with two candelabras adorned with greenery and peacock colored bows. The unity candle table was decorated with white candles and a fresh flower arrangement of peacock, plum and white flowers and a peacock feather. There was greenery, white flowers and peacock feathers across the stage. Pew bows were plum with white and peacock flowers. The foyer was decorated with photos of the bride and the couple’s engagement photos. A fresh flower arrangement, memory candles and photos of the couple’s deceased grandparents.

Joni was escorted by her father, Bill Gooden.

She wore a strapless mermaid style gown covered with appliques and pearls.

There were covered buttons down the back of the dress and a chiffon ruffle under the hem and train.

The bride wore her mother’s veil. It was a bow, trimmed in pearls and finger-tip length. She carried a bouquet of plum colored roses and peacock and white flowers. It was trimmed with peacock colored ribbon.

Maid of honor was Sarah Gooden, sister of the bride, of Dallas. Matron of honor was Kimberly Bumpas, sister of the bride, of Duncan.

Bridesmaids were Becca Dean of Edmond, Bailey Brown of Edmond, Megan Law of Duncan and Kathryn Law of Duncan. Junior bridesmaids were Allison Tinney and Jordan Tinney, nieces of the bride, both of Marlow.

The maid of honor wore a strapless knee-length gray satin dress with a black belt. The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore knee-length peacock satin dresses in various styles. The junior bridesmaids wore knee-length plum satin dresses. They carried peacock feathers trimmed with pearls and plum ribbon.

Best man was Jay Sparks, brother of the groom, of Stillwater.

Groomsmen were Boston Brown of Edmond, Fletcher Gibbs of Oklahoma City, Roger Calger of Duncan, Jass Ross of Oklahoma City and Aaron Alvarado of Duncan.

Flower girl was Kinlee Bogle of Duncan.

Ring bearer was Brycen Dean of Edmond.

Ushers were Austin Tinney, nephew of the groom, of Marlow, Cody Earls of Duncan, Nic Tinney of Burleson, Texas and Roy Throneberry of Oklahoma City.

Candlelighters were Jack Mayfield and Claire Mayfield, cousins of the groom, of Tulsa.

Reception site was the Duncan Golf and Tennis Club and attendants were Debbie Hooper of Lawton, Linda DeLeon of Duncan and Megan DeLeon of Norman. The wedding cake was made by the groom’s grandmother, Linda Pollock and the groom’s cake was made by the bride.

Guest book attendant was Sydney O’Daniel of Stillwater.

Rehearsal dinner was held at the home of Lance and Nancy Jones in Duncan March 9 and was catered by Susie Q’s and hosted by Jim and Angie O’Daniel.

Destination of the wedding trip was a cruise to Jamaica, Grand Caymon and Cozumel, Mexico.

Residence after trip is Stillwater.
