DUNCAN — Jennifer Renee Rush of Duncan, and TJ Murray IV of Ponca City, exchanged wedding vows at 6 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, at Secrets Capri Resort in Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico. The ceremony took place under the beachfront arbor on the sand at sunset.

Jennifer is the daughter of Robert and Peggy Rush of Duncan. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Ruby Rush of Duncan and Louis Lahman of Caney and the late Dorthy Lahman of Caney.

TJ is the son of Tommy and Christie Murray of Ponca City. He is the grandson of Dee and Marilyn Bourne of Stillwater and the late TJ and Mary Ann Murray of Ponca City.

Sea shells and star fish lined the aisle to the beachfront arbor. The guest’s chairs were adorned with white chair covers and turquoise bows. The ceremonial table was decorated with a centerpiece of coral and pink roses and lilies. Three crystal vases used for the sand ceremony were also on the table.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore an Essense of Australia strapless gown. The gown was silky satin and ivory in color. It featured a dramatically cut back, complimented with a sweet-heart neckline, simple rouching across the bodice, and finished with diamante crystal detailing on the train and bodice. Her one tier veil was elbow length and adorned with beading on the edges. She wore turquoise jewelry along with a ring given to her by her mother. Her shoes were turquoise wedge heels, embellished with crystals. She carried a bouquet of coral and pink roses and lilies.

The maid of honor was Laura Bennett of Oklahoma City, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Robyn Rush of Duncan, sister of the bride; Andrea Shoffit of Chickasha , sister of the bride; and Stacy Coppock of Kansas City, sister of the groom.

The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore matching satin dresses. Their dresses were strapless and knee length. The dresses were turquoise in color and featured floaty bubble skirts. They each wore their hair up with a matching yellow flower. They wore yellow wedge heels. They each wore a necklace adorned with a glass turquoise pendent made by the groom’s aunt.

The best man was Clayton Murray of Ponca City, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Matt Morris of Norman, friend of the groom; Denis Dimitrov of Sofia Bulgaria, friend of the groom; Wade Bair of Stillwater, friend of the groom; Clint Stafford of Carrollton, Texas, friend of the groom; Bryan Coppock of Kansas City; brother-in-law of the groom.

A reception was held on the ocean front deck with dinner, dancing and music provided by a Caribbean trio following the ceremony. The bride changed to her reception gown. She wore an original silk, pearl white gown created by Alia Dimitrov of Sofia Bulgaria. The gown featured a ruffled tiered skirt, sweet-heart neckline, and lace-up back.

A rehearsal was hosted by the groom’s parents on a catamaran cruise the Thursday evening before the wedding. Guests were treated to breathtaking views, cocktails, and dancing.

On return from Mexico, a reception took place for friends and family unable to attend the destination wedding. The reception was held Aug. 14 at the Elks Golf and Country Club in Duncan. The decorations were consistent with the Mexico beach wedding theme; consisting of palm trees, sea shells, and brightly colored flowers.

The couple has established a home in Oklahoma City. Both the bride and groom are employed at Boyd Metals. The bride is an account manager and the groom is a territory manager.
