DUNCAN — The Duncan High School football team’s schedule doesn’t get any easier as the Demons prepare to host Weatherford Friday night at Halliburton Stadium.

The Eagles are coming off a 27-14 victory against Harrah last week.

Duncan will look to improve upon its showing in its season opener last week against Guthrie. The Demons couldn’t muster much offense against the Bluejays, who are ranked second in the latest AP Class 5A poll. Duncan managed 147 yards of total offense with just 66 rushing yards on 31 carries.

Demon quarterback Connor Kelly led the team in rushing with 45 yards on 14 carries. The senior was also the Demons’ leading tackler on defense, with 10 total tackles, seven unassisted. Teammate Hunter Kelly, a sophomore, had eight tackles against Guthrie.

After this week, the Demons will get yet another stiff test, as they head on the road to face Carl Albert, which is ranked third in the AP Class 5A poll.
