Harris takes command as Bronchos beat OCA

CENTRAL HIGH — Central High’s Kevin Harris scored in nearly every way possible.

The Bronchos senior scored nine total touchdowns in Central High’s road high school football contest at Oklahoma Christian Acadmey, 74-34.

It was the 200th victory for Central High football program since its inception.

Harris dominated the running game with 360 yards rushing and six touchdowns. He also caught a pass for a touchdown, returned a kickoff 55 yards for a touchdown, and returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown.

Assistant coach John Nease praised the Bronchos offensive line for its blocking. He cited Derek Davis, Dylan Waller, Cole Edens and Sean Edense for their blocking and how it led to open holes for the Bronchos’ backs.

Nease added, “It was a good experience toplay on field turf at Edmond Memorial Stadium. We had to get the kids used to playing on a different field.”

Quarterback Kade Taylor completed 7-of-13 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. Michael Womack added 73 yards rushing on 16 carries and Michael Maes has nine carries for 80 yards.

The Bronchos get their first home action this Friday against Macomb, which lost 58-8 against Cyril.
