Demons topple Southeast

DUNCAN — Duncan imporved its District 1-5A record to 3-2 after beating Southeast at home Friday, 46-8.

The Demons took a 13-0 lead in the first quarter, then extended the lead to 40-0 by halftime. Senior running back Je’Mario McCoy accounted for two rushing touchdowns, with senior quarterback Connor Kelly adding a third.

The Demons also got first-half rushing touchdowns from Nathan Clark and Stacee Morrison, plus a passing TD when Mason Hightower hooked up with Bryce Byford.

Many of the younger Duncan players took the field in the second half.

The Demons needed the win to keep themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot. They will next look for a win at Del City in one week’s time. Del City beat Chickasha 14-12 Friday night.

In other District 1-5A games Friday, Lawton MacArthur beat Altus 48-14, Ardmore beat Capitol Hill 42-6.
