DUNCAN — A handful of local drivers were off to the races once again last weekend, doing what they love most at the Lawton Speedway.

Chadd Howell of Waurika continue to place high in the USA Modified race, taking first place after taking second place in his heat to reach the finals. Also racing in the event’s finals from Waurika was Harold Winton Jr., who took sixth overall after finishing fifth in his heat.

Winton Jr. was more than familiar with the car right behind him in the main race, as his father Harold Winton Sr. of Waurika taking sixth place in the USA Modified.

Marlow was well represented in the Mini Stocks race with three racers. James Norton led the way by placing third, while Dakota Davies and Nathan Hicks finished in order at the nine and ten spot. Norton made his presence felt by winning Heat 2 while Davies and Hicks took third and fourth in Heat 2.

Duncan’s racers spun their wheels in the Limited Modified race, with David Shipman taking eight in the B-Main race and Tony Morgan finishing right behind his fellow Duncan driver in ninth.
