DUNCAN — A handful of Stephens County racers were out on the track again last weekend, turning their tires in races at Lawton Speedway.

Duncan’s David Shipman competed in the limited modified race, placing 11th in the A-Main race, second in the B-Main race and taking fifth in his heat.

Shawn Johnson and Terry Hansen also hit the track Saturday, competing in the factory stocks race and USA Modified race, respectively. Johnson took seventh place overall and second in his heat during the stocks race while Hansen claimed 10th out of 13 drivers in the modified event.

Waurika resident Chadd Howell had the most success of all local drivers, taking second overall in the USA Modified  event and winning his heat.

Racing at Lawton Speedway resumes Saturday.
