DUNCAN — Thanks to rainy conditions and low temperatures, the Duncan and Marlow baseball teams were forced to wait another day to find out their fate at regionals Thursday.

The Demons game against El Reno in Guthrie was rescheduled to Friday at 4 p.m. and the Outlaws regional opener against Jones will now begin at 1 p.m. in Marlow.

When Duncan takes the field against the Indians Friday, it will be a rematch of the team’s first game at regionals Wednesday. The Demons had no trouble with El Reno the first time around, run-ruling them 14-4 in five innings.

Following a loss to Guthrie 9-3 later on Wednesday, Friday’s game has major implications for the Demons. With a win, they will move on to the regional final, another rematch against Guthrie. Should they lose to El Reno, their campaign at regionals, and season, will come to a close.

Marlow has plenty of reason to feel confident heading into their regional. Along with having a home field advantage, they’ve earned victories along each of the other three teams competing – Frederick, Jones and Kingfisher – earlier this season. The Outlaws enter the tournament on a tear, having won 13 straight games.
