While there were plenty of state track qualifiers from Stephens County this weekend, Monday afternoon saw additional athletes have their names added to the list of state qualifiers.
In Class A, Velma-Alma saw several athletes qualify in additional events for this weekend’s state competition at Carl Albert High School.
Events will begin on Friday morning with the finals starting on Saturday morning.
Dallen Mercer was named as a qualifier for the high jump event, while Robert Suttles was added in the long jump event.
Sarian Smith will go for gold in the 400 meter dash event after being added as a state qualifier, while Lucas Dearmond will run in the 1600 meter run event.
Andrew McGuire also saw his name added to the list, as he will be running in the 110 meter hurdles event.
For the Lady Comets, Marli Barney will compete in the discus event, while the Lady Comets relay team will be running in the 3200 meter relay event.
Waurika also saw another state qualifier added, as Tatum Mora will be running in the 400 meter dash event.
Meanwhile, in Class 3A Marlow and Comanche both saw additional qualifiers added to the state meet event, which will take place from Ardmore High School this weekend.
Chris Davis will be running for the Outlaws in the 3200 meter run, with the MHS relay team going for gold in the 400 meter relay event.
Dalton Daubenspeck will also be competing in the state meet, after being added to the discus throw event.
For the Lady Outlaws, Morgan Smith will be running in the 100 meter dash, with Tiarah Nunley looking for gold in the 800 meter run.
Marlow’s Connor Clements and Kaytlyn Kizaar were both added for the pole vault event, with Emmalee Williams qualifying in the discus throw event.
Jerron Sanders and Braden Ledford will be representing the Indians in the 100 meter dash and high jump events, while Brianna Robinson will be running for the Lady Indians in the 300 meter hurdles event.
