The Duncan Banner
While graduation might be approaching for some Stephens County schools, there are a few senior athletes who have one more game to play before they walk the stage.
On Tuesday, May 14 the 2013 Senior Classic Games will be held from Cache High School, involving high school boys and girls basketball players from across the southwest.
In the first game of the evening at 5:30 p.m. the large school girls game will see several Stephens County athletes playing for the North squad, who will be coached by Mario Gagliardi from Lawton High.
Marlow’s Emmalee Williams, Avery Walker and Ashley O’Dell will be joined by Duncan Lady Demon players Sarah Ray and Jamie Carberry.
At 6:30 p.m., the large school boys game will take place, with Marlow’s John Garrett leading the North squad against Comanche’s Nick Price who will be coaching the South squad.
Jackson Huddleston and Sean Hazel will be representing Marlow on the North squad, along with Cade Baldwin, Carter David and Jack Braught from Duncan.
Comanche’s Garrett Morrow will be on the South squad as the lone Stephens County player.
In the small school girls game (7:30 p.m.), Central High’s Lacie Phillips will be the lone Stephens County representative on the North squad, who will be coached by Sterling’s Rick Wilson.
Finally at 8:30 p.m. in the small school boys game, Central High and Empire will both be represented on the North and South squads.
Dallin Ferrin will cap off a solid season, as he will suit up for the North squad, who will be coached by Sterling’s Bink Woolbright.
On the opposite side for the South squad, Cordell Setters will play his final basketball game as he will represent Empire.
Then, on Saturday night May 18 (7:30 p.m.), at Cameron Stadium in Lawton, the 24th Annual Southwest Senior Bowl will take place.
For the North squad, Stephens County will be represented by Kale Reed (Comanche), Rylan Skinner (Marlow), Ashton Wright (Central High), Alex Tuttle (Comanche), Caleb Longest (Duncan), Jarrett Sparks (Central High), and Andrew Percy (Duncan).
Central High coach Darren Lamar will be one of the four coaches assisting with the North squad during the game.
