Lady Outlaws claim 3rd at regional track meet

DUNCAN — Saturday afternoon at the Class 3A Regional track competition in Madill, Marlow’s Lady Outlaws stepped up when it mattered most.

A strong third place finish in the team competition ensured the Lady Outlaws will be representing Marlow High School at the state meet, which begins on Friday from Ardmore High School.

Comanche’s girls finished in 12th place overall for the meet.  

There were several standout performances for the Lady Outlaws on the day, with Maci and Rylee Rich earning several top finishes.

Maci finished second in the 800 meter run, with Tiarah Nunley finished in fifth place in the 800 for the Lady Outlaws.

Maci though won the 1600 meter run, eight seconds ahead of her sister Rylee, with Nunley finishing in sixth place overall.

Rylee though, rebounded with a second place finish in the 3200 meter run, with a time of 12:12.92.

Morgan Smith claimed sixth place overall in the 100 meter dash, along with a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash.

Ashley O’Dell put in a second place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.59.

In the 300 meter hurdles event, Connor Clements and Kaytlyn Kizaar finished in seventh and eighth places respectively, with times of 54.44 and 55.08.

Marlow’s girls took third place in the 800 meter relay, with Morgan Smith, Tory Nations, Kaytlyn Kizaar and Ashley O’Dell among the team members.

O’Dell and Nations were also apart of the 1600 meter relay team that was joined by the Rich sisters, claiming third place with a time of 4:18.42.

In the 3200 meter relay event, the Rich sisters, along with O’Dell and Nunley claimed second place overall with a time of 10:10.70.

Marlow registered three top-six finishers in the pole vault event, with Hannah Peters claiming second overall with a jump of 8 ft. Clements and Kizaar finished fifth and sixth respectively.

Corrie Moore came in 10th place in the long jump event for Marlow with a leap of 13”10’.

Shayna Throckmorton registered a second place finish in the shot put event, with a throw of 33”2’.

Emmalee Williams and Leighla Usher also finished in sixth and 15th place respectively in the shot put for MHS.

In the discus event, Williams along with Madison Waller and Karli Jones finished in sixth, seventh and eighth places overall.

Meanwhile for Comanche, Brianna Robinson fell just short of qualifying for the finals in the 100 meter dash event, finishing with a time of 14.12, just one second away from the final spot.

Robinson though, came back and finished in fourth place overall in the 300 meter hurdles event with a time of 52.42.

Robinson also claimed a ninth place finish in the long jump event, with a best of 14”1’.

Tate Jackson claimed ninth overall in the high jump event, with her best jump of 4”6’.

Comanche was also represented in the shot put event, with Aimee Watson finishing in eighth with a throw of 27”7’, with teammate Christi Ward finishing in 24th overall.

Watson and Ward also placed in the discus throw (17th and 20th) with Marissa McCasland finishing in 23rd.
