The Duncan Banner
If it’s the middle of April there’s only one thing it can mean for area high school baseball and slow pitch softball teams: Districts.
While the Class 2A-6A playoffs don’t begin for another couple of weeks, the Class A and B district assignments were released earlier this week, with many local teams being handed the right to host.
Central High will be among the host teams as the Bronchos will be going against fellow Stephens County school Bray-Doyle as well as Fletcher.
Waurika is another area team who will be hosting a district tournament this season.
The Eagles will look to repeat the success they had last season when they entertain the Empire Bulldogs and Apache.
Velma-Alma will be hitting the road for districts as they will be meeting Roff.
In slow-pitch softball, the Central High Lady Bronchos will be on the road for districts as they will be taking on Hollis and host school Navajo.
Empire will be one of the host schools as the Lady Bulldogs will go against Healdton and Snyder for the district round.
Waurika will also be hosting as the Lady Eagles drew Turner and Indiahoma for districts.
