One of the most popular and influential student groups in area high schools across the country is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Recently at the 39th Annual FCA All-State Event, Stephens County athletes and faculty members alike received some high honors.
Comanche seniors Kale Reed and Jenny Simpson were honored as FCA All-State athletes, along with 19 other seniors from Oklahoma High Schools for their influence in their respective schools.
Reed was the quarterback this season for the Indians football team, and is currently a member of the Indians baseball team.
Simpson played this season for the Lady Indians basketball team, before a knee injury sidelined her.
Duncan Middle School coach Mike Fitts was named as an All-State coach, along with Central High coach boys basketball coach John Nease.
“Being named as an All-State coach for FCA is a huge honor for me,” Nease said. “I was heavily involved with FCA when I was in high school, and to be participating in it as a coach is just as rewarding for me. FCA provides a way for students to express their faith in a school setting, and we’ve had a lot of new people join us this year, which has been very exciting for all of us, including myself.”
