While Class A teams have already gotten a taste of the playoffs, this weekend will see Class 2A and 3A join the party.
Tonight will see the Empire Lady Bulldogs (13-9) begin their quest for a regional berth as they will take on the Wilson Lady Eagles (8-14) at 6:30 p.m. from Wilson High School.
These two teams have already met twice this season, with the Lady Bulldogs winning both of those games on Dec. 7 and Dec. 27.
At 8 p.m. the Bulldogs (4-17) will try and break a two-game losing streak against the Eagles (20-2).
WHS has won both meetings against Empire this season, and enters the game on a 10-game winning streak.
Saturday night will see the winners of these games meet up against Central High for the district championship at 6:30 and 8 p.m. respectively.
The Lady Bronchos currently sport an overall record of 15-6 while the Bronchos are 13-8 on the season.
On the Class 3A side of the bracket, both Marlow and Comanche have already assured themselves of berths in the regional round of the playoffs.
Marlow’s Lady Outlaws (13-8) will be looking for a district championship as they will meet the Frederick Lady Bombers (9-12) at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night from Frederick High School.
With a win the Lady Outlaws will play at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night at home, but a loss will mean MHS plays at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile the Outlaws (13-9) will be looking for the same as they will take on the Bombers (15-6) at 8 p.m. also from Frederick High School on Saturday night.
A victory will see the Outlaws take on either Millwood or ASTEC on Thursday night at 8 p.m. from Outlaw Gymnasium while a loss will see Marlow play at 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
Comanche’s Lady Indians (2-15) will face a tall task in the district round Saturday night at Plainview High School (6:30 p.m.) as CHS will take on the No. 6 ranked Plainview girls (20-3).
Meanwhile the Indians (13-10) will take on a Plainview squad ranked No. 10 in Class 3A with a 19-4 record at 8 p.m.
