The stakes were high and the pressure was on, but Mikah Russell didn’t flinch Sunday in the final round of the Duncan Golf & Tennis Club’s Club Championship.
Russell maintained his first round lead by shooting a final round score of 69, winning the Championship Flight by seven strokes and earning the title of the club’s top golfer for the next year. He finished the event with a two-round score of 133.
Finishing behind Russell were Derek Harman with a final score of 140 and Chris Dickerson, who shot a 145.
A crowded and competitive A Flight got sorted out in the last 18 holes, with Danny Mercer earning a one-stroke victory over runner up Gary Davis with a 156. Finishing near the top of the pack were Tommy Bardsher and Lyndol Brosh, who each shot a 157.
Like in the Championship Flight, Flight B saw its day one leader finish the job Sunday, with Ken Shaw winning the flight by four strokes with a 155. Randy Harper came in second by shooting an overall score of 159 while Zach Dennis finished a stroke back of Harper to take third.
That was not the case in Flight C, as Joe Roberts moved from fifth to first on the leader board Sunday and finished with a tournament best score of 131. Brent Bullard, the leader after day one, took second place with a 134. Eric Hancock finished two strokes back to claim third place.
Terry Dittner preserved his first round lead in the Senior Flight, finishing with a gross score of 153. Gerry Singer finished four strokes back to take second while Karl Jacobs took third place with a 160.
The Super Senior Flight belonged to Jerry Wilson, who won the group with a gross score of 157. Right behind Wilson was runner up John Strickland, who shot a 159 and Ron Herndon, who ended up with a 160.
Graham Cox ran away with a victory in the Junior Flight, winning the group by 16 strokes with a 161. Baylor Bostick, who later played in the Youth All Stars Match Play, finished second while Ridge Harris secured third with a 193.
