DUNCAN — According to the rankings, Oklahoma may just have the best colleges in the country, athletically speaking.

As of Wednesday, Oklahoma State ranks atop the Capitol One Cup men’s standings, with Tulsa ranked 13th and Oklahoma No. 15.

The Capitol One Cup is a ranking and award system that looks for the colleges with the best all-around athletics, meaning that lacrosse and water polo results go right alongside basketball and football.

Currently, Oklahoma State is tied with USC for the top spot with 20 points apiece. Tulsa has four and Oklahoma has three.

Points are based on the final standings of NCAA Championships and final official coaches’ poll rankings.

The contest will last all school year, with the men’s and women’s winners being announced at the ESPY awards in July, where the winning schools will split $400,000 in student-athlete scholarship money.
