On a day when the Marlow Outlaws celebrated their district title, they also showed why they are ranked No. 3 in Class 3A.
Two quality victories over Lindsay and Class 4A Lone Grove gave the Outlaws fans something to cheer about as MHS claimed the Marlow Festival at Stone-Black Field.
“There’s a purpose behind everything we do,” Marlow coach Jeff Brewer said. “We’re going to give God the glory and play hard. When you get two good pitching performances like we did today then that’s hard to beat. If we can keep doing offensive fundamentals right then we’ll be just fine at the end of the day.”

Facing the Class 3A Leopards in the first game of the day, the Outlaws did what they do best against teams in their own classification.
A seven-run fourth inning put Marlow over the top and allowed them to claim the run-rule victory.
Trey Coffman registered two RBI courtesy of a throwing error at first base, which put Marlow up 6-1.
Tyler Brite then made it 7-1 when he slapped an RBI single to right field, which landed him on third base following an error in the outfield.
Austin Forsythe collected a two-RBI single to make it 9-1, before Coffman knocked in another run with his third RBI of the inning.
Forsythe scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch for the Outlaws.
Brite initially gave MHS the lead in the bottom of the first with an RBI double, before Wakely Bergner made it 3-0 in the bottom of the third with a two-RBI double.
Anthony Green put the Outlaws up 4-0 with an RBI single, also in the bottom of the third inning.
Lindsay’s lone run came in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI bloop single to right field.
Brite got the win on the mound for the Outlaws, allowing just one hit with one walk in a complete game effort.
