Marlow coach Kelly Henderson expects big things from the dual at Pauls Valley on Thursday.
The match will be Hendeson’s first with the program as he took over freshly graduated from University of Central Oklahoma. There, Henderson was a two-time All-American, and he hopes to recreate that success at the high school level as a coach. Thursday will be the first step.
“I don’t know a whole lot about (Pauls Valley), but my expectations are that we dominate every single weight class,” Henderson said.
Henderson added that there will be a few weight classes that will be open because of injuries carried over from football season. However, the team has a full roster this year, instead of last year, when senior Seth Scarbrough said the team didn’t have more than eight members.
While Henderson has seen some of the wrestlers in the early season open bouts, he still is interested in seeing all of them compete. He is most interested in the three freshman — Rylan Cochran, Trevor Loyd and Brandon Green — who will take part in the varsity match.
