CENTRAL HIGH —
Central High football’s 8-3 record this season did not go unnoticed by the coaches in District 2-B.
Eight players were named to the All-District team and senior Kevin Harris was named Utility Player of the Year. The seven other players who were named to the team are senior quarterback Kade Taylor, senior offensive lineman Dylan Waller, senior wide receiver John Repp, offensive lineman Derek Davis, senior linebacker Deekota Williams, senior defensive lineman George Wagner and senior defensive back Austen Dewitt.
“This summer, a bunch of the kids that are on there put a lot of work in to prepare for the season,” Repp said. “It just shows they put the work in.”
Utility was probably the best way to describe Harris’ impact on the team. He rushed for more than 2,000 yards, but also was the team’s leading receiver and return man. On defense he combined with Repp to give the Bronchos a solid secondary that helped force four shutouts on the year.
“Ever since he was a little kid, me and him would always compete,” Repp said. “Having a player who can do anything on the field is good, because if (coach Keith Burton) wanted to, he could put him at lineman.”
