Following the lead of their varsity counterparts, the boys and girls junior varsity Duncan Demons tennis teams made the most of the Duncan Junior Varsity Tennis Tournament Tuesday.
Both the Demons and Lady Demons took care of business, winning their tournaments with 3-0 records.
“It’s good for the young kids to get out and play,” Demons coach Phil Barnes said. “It’s a chance for them to play someone besides themselves in practice. They got to feel the pressure of competing in a match and I think they responded really well.”
From start to finish, Duncan stayed in control, sweeping matches against Chickasha, Deer Creek and Atlus.
Cameron McCasland led the way in singles, beating Noel Avila of Chickasha 6-2, 6-4, Deer Creek’s Doris 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 and Paulino Ortiz from Atlus 6-0, 6-2.
