DUNCAN — Like their high school predecessors, the Duncan Middle School Lady Demons tennis team is quickly making a habit of winning tournaments.

Four days after taking first place at the Heritage Hall Tournament, the team did more of the same at the Altus Tournament Tuesday, winning all four events to take the title.

Rachel Hartman had little trouble with her competition in No.1 singles, racking up three straight wins to take first. Hartman opened with an 8-3 win against Lawton Eisenhower’s Parker Clement, earned win number two by beating Elk City’s Jaime Butcher 8-2 and secured first with an 8-1 win against Clinton’s Reagan Cabaniss.

Not to be outdone, Logan Churchman made it a clean sweep in singles play by winning No.2 singles. Churchman won her first match against Jayden Nolan from Atlus 8-0, continued her success with an 8-1 win against Lawton Eisenhower’s Hannah Carter and finished strong by beating Clinton’s Nautica Brown 8-0.

In doubles play, it was the same story.

The duo of Jordan Clauson and Mackenzie Rains didn’t surrender a single point in No.1 doubles, defeating Brown and Bain of Atlus, Lewis and Phelps from Lawton and Brown and Noland from Chickasha 8-0.

Josephine Hriscu and Addie Watkins made it four for four in Duncan victories, taking first place in No. 2 doubles. The pair started with an 8-0 sweep against Ketchum and Powell of Chickasha, defeated Pollak and Posey from Atlus by the same score and ended on a high note, beating Clinton’s Moore and Whitetail 8-2.
