Mother Nature was no match for the Duncan girl’s golf team Tuesday, as the Lady Demons finished with its lowest score of the season at a tournament it hosted at the Territory.
Duncan finished with a season best score of 331, taking third place behind tournament champion Tulsa Science and Tech and runner up Deer Creek.
“We played better than we have at any point this year,” Lady Demons coach Steve Ethridge said. “We do have to work on our short game, we can’t give up as many shots around the green.”
Allison Wilcox led the way for Duncan, taking sixth place at the competition with a 77.
Kayla Witt finished just two strokes behind with a 79 and Jerica Gregston finished third on the team with an 82.
“Our top three girls played really well,” Ethridge said. “We had a loss less putts then we had before.”
Rounding out the team were Whitney Hall with a 93 and Savannah Martin with a score of 100.
The Lady Demons will be back in action Monday, when it competes at a tournament at the River Oaks Club.
