DUNCAN — While mother nature might have been playing havoc this week with sports scheduled across the state, the Duncan Lady Demons golf team was busy playing what else, golf.

This past weekend at the Battle Creek Golf Course in Broken Arrow, the Lady Demons took on heavy competition, coming away in third place overall with a team score of 342.

Tulsa Union and Broken Arrow claimed the top two spots in the tournament.

“We are starting to put things together,” Duncan coach Steve Etheridge said. “Hopefully within the next three weeks we’ll have everyone playing much better for us.”

Jerica Gregston was the top finisher for Duncan with an 82, with teammate Allyson Wilcox finishing one stroke behind.

Whitney Hall finished with an overall score of 88, while Savannah Martin registered a 91.

Chelsea Harwell was unable to finish the tournament as she had to withdraw due to an injury.

Duncan was scheduled to have a tournament at Deer Creek on Tuesday, but it was postponed due to heavy rainfall.

It will be made up at a date and time to be determined.
