Season comes to end for Bray-Doyle boys, girls

DUNCAN — The season came to an end in heartbreaking fashion for the Bray-Doyle Lady Donkeys on Friday night, falling in the first round of their Class A district tournament to Tipton, 39-38.

The Lady Donkeys trailed 31-24  at halftime before rallying in the third quarter to pull within three points (33-30).

The comeback, though, came up just short.

Morgan Kovar led Bray-Doyle with 13 points, while Madison Kelly had 10 and Alma Alvarez added seven. Ashton Long finished with three points and Taylor Nichols added two.

Tipton 70, Bray-Doyle 26

The Donkeys’ difficult season wrapped up Friday as Tipton pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back.

Bray-Doyle was within striking range after the first quarter, trailing 19-13, but Tipton turned up the heat in the second period and by halftime it was up 41-19.

Craig Brown led the Donkeys with nine points, while Jessie Bearce had eight, Josh Goodrich had three and Randy Jackson, Greg Perez and Rodney Hall each added two points.
