Outlaws have good showing at Hub City

MARLOW — Even though it only took eight wrestlers, Marlow had a successful showing at the Hub City Tournament this last weekend.

Six out of the eight wrestlers placed in the top four in their weight class and the team finished ninth. Even though the team didn’t finish in the top five, coach Kelly Henderson said it was the highest point total the team had so far this season.

He added that he thought the strong result was because of the successful dual against Harrah last Tuesday. With a full lineup for the first time all season, Henderson’s Outlaws took No. 8 Harrah to the brink losing 35-34.

Down 30-9, 160-pound Seth Scarbrough and Brice Shepard won both of their matches to make it 36-18. Then, Hector Bullock dominated his first match of the season and Seth Young pinned his heavyweight opponent. The Harrah coach received a warning to solidify the final score.
