COMANCHE — In the season opener, Velma-Alma Comets traveled to Comanche’s turf, but the Redskins’ advantage wasn’t enough, as V-A left with a victorious 32-6 win.

The Thursday game between the two Stephens County teams signaled the beginning of the 2013 football season.

Friday night, Duncan takes on Guthrie at home; while Marlow travels to Lone Grove, Empire heads to Snyder, Central High goes to Mountain View-Gotebo and Ryan steps onto Waurika’s field. Also staying home will be Bray-Doyle as they host Elmore City.
