The Duncan Lady Demons took a doubleheader from the Altus Lady Bulldogs Thursday night at the Duncan Softball Complex.
DHS won the first game 9-1 in six innings, and the second 10-0 in five innings.

Lady Demons had a tough time getting started in the first game, but head coach Robert Cowan said that it was more to do with the speed of pitching.
“Just from experience, sometimes playing pitching like that isn’t much fun,” he said. “In all the years I’ve coached, I’ve never had a team that could make the adjustment.”
The Lady Bulldogs scored the first run in the top of the fourth, but DHS was able to wait on pitches and scored five runs.
Caylin Lynch started Duncan off by reaching on an error, and Sarah Harper followed with a single. Madison Pewitt reached on another miscue, but Lynch was caught between second and third on the play. Ashley Green reached on a fielder’s choice that erased Harper and left DHS with runners at first and second with two outs. Allison Edwards singled to tie the game and Mackenzie Gibbs singled to make it 2-1. Ashlee Perkins reached on an error that scored two runs for a 4-1 Lady Demons edge, and Ashley Gonzalez’s single made it 5-1.
In the fifth, DHS went back to work and came up with two more runs. One run scored on an error, and the second came across on a sacrifice fly by Edwards.
Duncan ended the game in the sixth, as Perkins walked and scored on a single by Lynch. Lynch scored on Pewitt’s single.
Pewitt, who was 2-for-4, got the win, striking out nine, and allowing four hits.

The DHS offense got on course quickly in the
nightcap, as the Lady Demons scored three runs in the bottom of the first.
Kenzie Kennedy walked, as did Lynch. Harper, who was 1-for-1 in the game, tripled to make it 2-0. Her courtesy runner, Gonzalez, scored on a wild pitch for a 3-0 edge.
Duncan capped the scoring in the second with seven runs. Gibbs led off with a triple, and scored on a single by Perkins. Sadie Conran walked and Kennedy came up with a base knock. Lynch made it 5-0 with a bases loaded walk. Harper sent up a sacrifice fly, and Pewitt doubled for a 7-0 cushion. Gibbs, who finished 2-for-2, got the last run across with a single.
Judy Dines got the win, allowing three hits, both coming after the second inning. She had one strike out.
Duncan will be at the Ardmore Festival Saturday.
