Golfers combat heat in fourth scramble

A team of four turned up the heat on the competition in the Firecracker Scramble at Duncan Golf & Country Club and took top honors in the 1st Flight.

Jason, Jim and Mike Hodges teamed up with Jeff Davenport to shoot a 53. That score was good enough to hold off two teams. Terry Dittner, Gary Davis, Ron Crook, Wayne and Tommy Bardsher took second with a 54. Brandon Barker, Micah Russell, Zade Winslow, Brent and Natalie Cole also shot a 54.

Jim Cincala, Pat Morgan, Sammy Amerson, Mark Smith and Sam Lavelier shot a 56 as did Ron Matney, Paul Boyer, Bobby and Johnna Dodson.

Two teams in the first flight finished the day with a 57. The team of Brad and Don Rice, Rann and Spencer White accomplished the feat along with Kenny Jones, Jimmie Castor, Jeff Thomas and Kelly Sims.

There was a traffic jam in the 2nd Flight with five teams shooting a 59. Listed at the top of the heap was the team of Dan Hammond, Aaron Haley, Ronnie, Brent and Natalie Cole. Also scoring a 59 in the morning session were the teams of Paul Boyer, Joe Moody, Bobby and Jonna Dodson as well as Robert Cowan, Joe Smyser, Ed and Ryan Cox.

During the afternoon session, the teams of Mark Smith, Sam Lavelier, Wade and Kyle Christian turned in a 59 as did Randy, Patty, Taylor, Sarah, Page and Mike Harper.

Chris Gdanski, Tony Cook, Ken and Tony Shaw were one of three teams to shoot a 60. The other two teams were Joe Roberts, Keith H., Jaron Sylvester and Jim Cincala and Joe Morales and Ryan Cox.

The top of the 3rd Flight was nearly as crowded as the 2nd Flight, with four teams shooting a 64. Phil Whitney, Wayne Woods, Rusty and Randy Freel were listed at the top of the standings. David Hammond, Mike Fiorello, C.H. Barnes and Carl Lamar turned in a 64 as did the teams of Jack Smith, Bennie Miraza and the Watts as well as Buddy and Oliver Rozell and Anna, Wayne and Winkie Doucet.

Randy, Cindy, Tyler and Sarah Harper finished their morning session with a 65 and were joined by Sheena Schlien, Jeff Johnson, Stephanie Jones, Wade and Kyle Christian and Matt Conway, Jim Haney, Pat Kornecki and Ivan Blanco.
