The Duncan boy’s golf team took on the best that the region has to offer Thursday morning, hosting the Southern Oklahoma Invitational at the Duncan Golf and Tennis Club.
The Demons held their own from start to finish, placing seventh out of 17 teams competing.
Duncan’s junior varsity squad also impressed, beating out Chickasha’s and Guthrie’s varsity teams.
Leading the way for Duncan was Tyler Albin, who shot a 77 and 78 en route to an eighth place finish.
Finishing close behind was Blake Graham who hit a first round 78 and second round 85.
Logan Harris, Thomas Gallion and Christian Dructor rounded out the team’s scores. Harris shot an 88 and 81, Gallion finished with an 88 and 84 and Dructor scored an 86 and 87.
The Duncan JV team was led by Carson Hogstad, who shot a first round of 87 and second round of 88.
Bradon Jones finished five strokes behind to finish second on the team, shooting a 91 and 89.
Jett Gray shot a 102 and 97, Brennon Hancock notched a 90 and 115 and Jr Murillo scored a 129 and 110.
Finishing right behind Duncan was Marlow, who took eighth. Sean Hicks took 14th overall with an 80 and 77, Hunter Ortega shot an 81 and 80 and Dakota Hicks finished with an 80 and 82.
The Demons will be back in action on Wednesday at the Ada Tournament.
