    The start and finish was near perfect, but it was everything in the middle that haunted the Duncan Lady Demons Tuesday night.

    The Velma-Alma Comet basketball teams celebrated Senior Night with a couple of wins over Ringling.

  • Comanche takes down Kingston
    The Indians picked it up in the second half and knocked off Kingston 50-40 in a make-up game Monday night. Clayton Bennett turned in a strong outing with 15 points and Josh Peevy knocked down three 3-pointers to lead the Indians to the win.

  • Bouncing back
    The conference championship was put out of reach for Velma-Alma after the Comets’ home loss to Bray-Doyle Friday night. But the Comets did not dwell on the loss and in turn got back on track with a 56-53 win over Comanche Saturday night.

  • V-A shines in win
    One of the things Velma-Alma coach Jerry Garrett has hoped for this season is that his team would put together a complete game. He got his wish Saturday night.

  • DHS hosts Ardmore tonight
    In an effort to raise money for the cure for cancer, Duncan basketball will hold Cancer Awareness Night tonight when Duncan takes on Ardmore. The event was originally scheduled for Jan. 29 but the recent winter storm postponed it to tonight.

    Lawton MacArthur did not have to wait long to gain a measure of revenge.

    Just when it seemed like Duncan found the answer, Lawton MacArthur was able to one-up the Lady Demons.

  • Donkeys hold off Velma-Alma rally for win
    Twice had the Bray-Doyle Donkeys held a late lead over the Velma-Alma Comets this season. And twice the Comets ended up on the winning side of the scoreboard.
