“The stores are setting up. You’re getting ready to decorate. Kids are dreaming of what Santa might bring them this year. Excitement and anticipation become palpable. But somewhere along the line, excitement gives way to panic. Anticipation dwindles with every purchase and pretty soon, the weight of Christmas is upon you.

The meaning of it all is lost in traffic, debt, and stress. Reclaim the excitement and anticipation with Heritage Oaks Church of the Nazarene as Pastor Doug brings messages that will help you navigate the landscape of the holiday season and find a joy-filled Christmas. This year, turn your Christmas Upside Down.”

Good Shepherd Lutheran

On this Second Sunday of Advent, Pastor David Heitner’s sermon will be entitled “Prepare the Way of the Lord.” Relevant Scriptures to be read will be Malachi 3:1, Philippians 1:2, and Luke 3:1.

The “God For Us” class, for those wanting to know more about the Lutheran faith, is offered at noon on Tuesdays in the north end of the building. Advent midweek services continue at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Phone 580-255-3267.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
