5-17 Church Briefs



  •  New Hope Baptist West

In the morning worship service, Bro. Randy Southerland will bring the message “God’s Motivational Speech for Success” Joshua 1. The church will recognize graduating seniors during the morning worship service.

Music provided by Rick Lang and David and Charla Skinner.

In the evening worship service, the Kidz Worship Choir will present their musical “I Can Only Imagine” at 6 p.m.

Wednesday night service and activities are Prayer Time, youth activities and The Gospel Project at 6 p.m. and Sanctuary Bible Study at 6:30 p.m.

  •  Grace Baptist

GBC will be honoring their seniors during the Sunday morning service with a luncheon for them following the service. Worship Leader Mark Marine will be leading the music.

The Adult Sunday school class lesson titled “Look For Spiritual Excellence” is from Titus 2:1.

The Discipleship Training class will have pigs-in-a-blanket during their fellowship time at the beginning of the class Sunday evening. The class is from Matthew 1:18 titled “God with us.”

The GBC May free community meal will be Wednesday 5–6:30 p.m. dine-in on Wednesday. The menu will be beef goulash, corn, salad, and cake. The Wednesday night

Bible study and prayer meeting will follow the meal.

  •  First Christian Church

On Sunday, Rev. Jennifer Steil will deliver the sermon at the morning worship services in the Sanctuary. Her sermon is titled “Wind and Fire” with scripture text Acts 2:1-21.  

At the Well, Ryan Benton will continue the Sermon Series “GPS — God’s Persistent Spirit” with his sermon titled “The Great Commencement,” Scripture Text Acts 2.

  •  Unity Missionary Baptist

Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. the young adults will be studying from Philippians 3:10. The Adult Two Class will study “Protection in the Storm — Acts 27:1. In the 10:30 worship hour and the evening service at 6 p.m. Daniel Hays from Florida will be at Unity preaching in view for Associate Pastor.

The youth group will leas in th evening service.

Vaction bible school workers will meet at the church from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. to continue working getting ready for Vacation Bible School. Lunch will be served Saturday at Unity Saturday.

Unity’s Pastor is Bro. David McCallister.

    Oklahomans are being asked to focus on water conservation and stewardship and continue to keep drought-affected areas in their thoughts. A state-wide day of prayer has been set for 6 p.m. Sept. 18, backed by Oklahoma Conservation Districts, Oklahoma Conference of Churches and Whole Creation Community partnership.

    Almost everyone has at least one defining experience in their life which makes them take a closer look at all the beliefs they hold.
    For Michael Shank, author of “Muscle and a Shovel,” his came when he attended a Bible study taught by a former co-worker only revealed as Randall.
    Shank will share his story Sunday, Sept. 1, in three services at Eastside Church of Christ.
    Services will be open to the public and are at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
