  •  West Side Christian

“The Day God Cried” is the title Rev. Terry Schlein has chosen for this Sunday’s sermon at West Side Christian Church. He will speak on the story of Lazarus, as recorded in John 11:1.

The pastor's children’s sermon will be “In the Hands of Jesus,” based on the book of Isaiah. In recognition of Pentecost, the choir will sing “Holy Spirit, Holy Ground,” and a special offering will be taken.

The youth group will meet at 5 p.m. Sunday, and the choir will meet for rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

  •  Highland Park Baptist

“Faith In Action” will be the message delivered by Bro. Jerry Couch during the Sunday morning worship service. The scripture reference is from, Romans 1:8. Music will be provided by Jerry Bradley.

Bro. Jerry Couch will deliver the message “Staying Afloat In the Storm” with scripture reference from Luke 8:22- during the evening worship. Jim Crowder will provide music for the evening service.

Bro. Jerry will continue the study of Daniel on at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Activities for kids and youth will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday also.

  •  Duncan First Baptist

Dr. Bryan Pain’s message Sunday will continue with “Discovering Jesus in John’s Gospel.” Child care is available for both morning and evening services.

Several upcoming events with children and youth will take place in May at FBC. Main events include the class of 2013 Senior Sunday May 19 and the Duncan High School Baccalaureate Services will be held this year at FBC at 3 p.m.

Kid’s Creek at Falls Creek will be May 29-June 1. This is for students who have completed third through sixth grades. For more information about Kid’s Creek, call Susan Mitchell at 580-656-8590.

The First Baptist Child Development Center will offer a summer day camp for pre K – 5th grade May 30-Aug. 30. For information on this CDC activity, call 580-252-5887.

    For Michael Shank, author of “Muscle and a Shovel,” his came when he attended a Bible study taught by a former co-worker only revealed as Randall.
    Shank will share his story Sunday, Sept. 1, in three services at Eastside Church of Christ.
    Services will be open to the public and are at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
