May 24 Church Briefs

DUNCAN —

  •  Immanuel Baptist

Brian Holland will be ministering at Immanuel this Sunday morning. He will also be leading the contemporary worship service along with the choir and Praise Team. This will follow Sunday School for all ages.

iKids Falls Creek will be May 29-31 for children in grades 4-6. Parents may contact the church office for more information.

Super Summer is an OBU Christian Leadership Camp for students 7-12. Leadership training is accomplished through messages, fun games and team activities. The already registered students will be attending June 10-14.

Youth Falls Creek packets will be available June 16 and the camp itself is July 8-12. Please call the church for more information.

The church office will be closed on Monday, May 27 and there will be no evening service on May 26 due to Memorial Weekend. “Buck Barbeque” will be served at 6 p.m. May 29. Wednesday evening meals will be discontinued during the summer months and will pick back up in the fall. Ken Phillips and his team have done a wonderful job of preparing meals throughout this year and are greatly appreciated for their hard work.

The IBC Summer Schedule will begin Wednesday, May 29. The church “Summer SONshine” begins June 5 with all sorts of exciting lessons, wacky games, prizes and fun for all. All activities on Wednesdays will be from 6-7 p.m. and Sunday activities will consist of Sunday school and morning worship.

  •  Comanche First Baptist

Guest speaker Jody Hilliard will bring the messages for both Sunday services. Marcia Hart is music director and Scott Pitts is song leader. Evening activities include choir practice at 4 p.m., youth meetings at 5 p.m. and worship at 6 p.m., with a church-wide ice cream social following the evening service.

On Wednesdays, Loops of Love knit and crochet time is from 10 a.m. until noon. Prayer service, Youth Bible Study and Teamkids each begin at 6 p.m. For more information call 580-439-5335.

    For Michael Shank, author of “Muscle and a Shovel,” his came when he attended a Bible study taught by a former co-worker only revealed as Randall.
    Shank will share his story Sunday, Sept. 1, in three services at Eastside Church of Christ.
    Services will be open to the public and are at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
