March 22 Church Briefs



The annual Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt will be held 4-5 p.m. Sunday in the FUM Center. All children 5th grade and younger are invited to join for a visit from the Easter bunny and lots of eggs and treats and fun.


Comanche First Baptist

Interim pastor Toby Walker will speak on “An Unbelievable Message” from Mark 16:9 on Sunday morning. Marcia Hart is music director and Scott Pitts is song leader. Sunday evening activities include choir practice at 4:15 p.m., youth meeting at 5 p.m. and worship at 6 p.m.

On Wednesdays, Loops of Love is from 10 a.m. until noon. Prayer service, Youth Bible Study and Teamkids each begin at 6 p.m.

City Heights Baptist

Sunday night at 6 p.m. will be the fourth Sunday Singing Celebration at City Heights Baptist Church. The service led by Bill Greer, will feature solos, groups, instrumentalist. Anyone in the community who would like to sing or play, just show up.

Cake and ice cream to follow the music service in the fellowship hall. Sunday School lesson is from Luke 22: 19. Br. Billy Ward will bring the morning the message from Luke 19: 28 titled “The Crowd Watched Jesus.”


Assumption Catholic

There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 10 a.m. to noon. During this time, a priest will be available hear confessions or by appointment.

The Knights of Columbus invite everyone to Lenten Fish Fry Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, Marlow, today from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

“Karol the Man who Became Pope,” the life of Blessed John Paul II is a movie that will be shown on Saturday from 5:30-9 p.m. in English in Gillespie Hall.

This weekend after all masses, the Ladies of the Altar Society are having their annual Spring Bake Sale.  

Join for Adult Education with Fr. Peter, “The Sacrament of Confirmation,” 9-10 a.m. Monday and 6-7 p.m. in English. Spanish will be 7-8 p.m.

    For Michael Shank, author of “Muscle and a Shovel,” his came when he attended a Bible study taught by a former co-worker only revealed as Randall.
    Shank will share his story Sunday, Sept. 1, in three services at Eastside Church of Christ.
    Services will be open to the public and are at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
