March 22 Church Briefs

(Continued)

DUNCAN —

The family of God at Prairie Hill also welcomes you to all the regular scheduled services of the church.

Duncan First Baptist

On Sunday First Baptist Church of Duncan will offer Sunday School bible study classes for adults, youth, and children followed by worship services. Dr. Bryan Pain’s message Sunday morning will be “Discovering Jesus in John’s Gospel.” The Palm Sunday Processional will be “Hosanna” and The First Family choral praise will be “Jesus Paid It All.” Evening services will be held at 6 p.m.

Easter Sunday, First Baptist Church and the First Family Choir will present “He Carried My Cross,” a monolog drama told in the first person by the carpenter who built the cross Jesus carried. Special music enhances this powerful drama about the carpenter who remembers the life changing day at the foot of the cross of Jesus.

Plans are underway for the 2013 First Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt. The public hunt will be held in Fuqua Park Saturday, March 30, from 3-5 p.m. FBC is seeking donations of wrapped candy (no chocolate) to hide in the thousands of eggs for the hunt. Donations may be dropped off at the church.

For more information call 580-252-5885.

First United Methodist

This is a Sunday everyone enjoys since the children will be starting the traditional service with the Procession of Palms. The Chancel Choir will be singing “Shout to God” for the anthem and “Pieta” for the benediction to take the triumphant entry into Jerusalem and turn the mood into the events of Passion Week.

The sermon is “I’m Dreaming of a white Easter: Time for a Parade.” Rev. Dr. Greg Tolle will be preaching. The scripture, Luke 19:28 will be read by D’Ann Ingram. Sunday, experience the joyful hosannas as the children lead the parade.

You are also invited to attend the Connexion service this Sunday. Dr. Tolle preaches the same sermon in both services. The scripture reader in Connexion will be Rene Rodriguez.

Poll

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
