Unitarian Universalist (Lawton)

The Unitarian Universalist congregation has moved into its recently purchased building at 816 N.W. Gore Ave. in Lawton. They are currently meeting in the back portion of the building while the front section is being renovated.

Sunday, Rev. Scot Harvey will speak “Dance Through Life.” Rev. Harvey is a Unitarian minister from Oklahoma City. He works as an engineering supervisor at Tinker AFB and spends his weekends speaking at various churches in Oklahoma.

Unitarian Universalism is a multi-denominational church. People of all faiths and religious backgrounds, or lack of, are welcome.

Good Shepherd Lutheran

On this Palm Sunday, Pastor David Heitner’s sermon will be titled “The Inevitability of the Cross.” Relevant Scriptures to be read will be John 12:12, Deuteronomy 32:36, Philippians 2:5, and John 12:20. Sunday School and Adult Bible Study are followed by fellowship time, then worship.

The “God For Us” class, for those wanting to know more about the Lutheran faith, is offered at noon on Tuesdays in the north end of the building.

Maundy Service will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. and Good Friday service will be at the same time. For more information call 580-255-3267.

Prairie Hill Church of Christ

Minister Mario Pineda has been preaching a series on the Sermon on the Mount from Matthew 5, 6, and 7. Sunday morning he discussed judging others through God’s law with love for others, not according to our own opinions.

There are just two Sundays before LTC. The participants are busy with their pre-event projects and will participate in Bible Bowl, puppet, and chorus competition in Dallas in two weeks.

Next Sunday is “Bring a Friend” day, with guest speaker Kermit Webb, of the Old Landmarks radio program out of Oklahoma City. Everyone is invited for the Sunday morning service, worship, with potluck lunch following. Evening worship will immediately follow the potluck.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
