DUNCAN — Gospel Tabernacle Church

Gospel Tabernacle Church, located halfway between Marlow and Rush Springs, will be hosting a gospel singing 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. A covered dish fellowship will follow the singing. This will be the second such event hosted this year by the church, the first having had representatives from at least five churches. This is intended to be an interdenominational event. Anyone who loves to sing gospel music, play an instrument or sit back and enjoy is welcome to come and participate. There will be a sign-up sheet for those who want to sing and ample space for musicians who want to bring their instruments. Recorded accompaniment is also an option for those who prefer to bring their own tapes or CDs. Jim Barton will be the master of ceremonies for this event. He or his wife, Peggy, can be reached at 580-512-5804 or 580-658-3652.

NewLife Church

From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday is the Family Fall Festival, inside the Chisholm Mall. Come and join for a night of family fun, games, candy and prizes.

Open Heaven Church

Open Heaven Church has begun its ministry crusade, with evangelists traveling in from around the United States and Canada. Its first day was Saturday. The next one is Nov. 3, with evangelists Arthur and Freddie Gibson ministering. Arthur has a powerful testimony of deliverance from prison and what God can do when you surrender to him. Nov. 10, prophetess Karla Craft will minister in word and power in Christ. These next few weekends will be life changing. Bring the lost, the hurting, the sick and those in need. Located at 1302 S. Ninth in Duncan.

Heritage Oaks Church of the Nazarene

Heritage Oaks Church of the Nazarene will be hosting its Treasure Village 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with games and hay rides for all ages. There will be door prizes and a grand prize of an iPad. There is no cost to participate in this event. Sept. 30, was the “Something Better” kickoff in which all participants started off with a single paper clip and have been going through the community trying to trade it for “Something Better.” People have turned their paperclips into things such as laptops, TV’s, and even a 99 Harley Davidson. All of the items collected from this campaign will be displayed for the silent auction during Treasure Village. Proceeds from the auction will go towards child sponsorship. The goal is to raise $7,500. For more information call the church at 580-255-2869.

Poll

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
