Church Briefs



  •  Corum Assembly of God

Beth and Bob Nichols will be hosting revivals at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the church. Pizza and drinks will be served and everyone is welcome.

  •  First Christian

Sunday, Rev. Arnold Nelson will deliver the sermon at the morning worship services in the sanctuary. His sermon is titled “Will Miracles Ever Cease?” with Scripture text Acts 9:32. At the Well, Rev. Jennifer Steil’s sermon will be “The Big Catch” with Scripture text John 21:1.  

“Healing Grief” welcomes anyone going through a time of grief. It meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the church parlor.

  •  All Saints’ Episcopal

Following Sunday School, is the worship service with Holy Communion. This Sunday after worship, All Saints’ will celebrate birthdays and anniversaries for the month of April in Parish Hall.

The study group at 10 a.m. Tuesdays is watching a video series called “The Bible and Christian Life” by John Stott, followed by discussion. This study will run through May 21 and all are welcome.

  •  Rugged Cross Outdoor Chapel

Everyone is invited to free lunch at noon on the last Saturday of each month. For more information call 580-736-0162.

  •  Good Shepherd Lutheran

On Sunday of Easter, Pastor David Heitner’s sermon will be titled “The Voice of Our Shepherd.” Relevant Scriptures to be read will be Acts 20:17, Revelation 7:9, and John 10:22. Sunday School and Adult Bible Study will be followed by fellowship time, then worship.

Join True Gospel Tabernacle this Sunday and spend some time with Jesus. Sunday begins with prayer led by Pastor Suff. Bishop Sherman P.   •  Parkview Baptist

Parkview Baptist Church will host the Traveling Senior Saints 10th annual Singin’ and Praisin’ from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. Tuesday. The Ladies of Parkview Baptist will serve a lunch of chicken spaghetti, salad and dessert. The worship time message will continue the series “Finding Your Way in the World Today, Who is First?,” a discussion of priorities.

    Oklahomans are being asked to focus on water conservation and stewardship and continue to keep drought-affected areas in their thoughts. A state-wide day of prayer has been set for 6 p.m. Sept. 18, backed by Oklahoma Conservation Districts, Oklahoma Conference of Churches and Whole Creation Community partnership.

    Almost everyone has at least one defining experience in their life which makes them take a closer look at all the beliefs they hold.
    For Michael Shank, author of “Muscle and a Shovel,” his came when he attended a Bible study taught by a former co-worker only revealed as Randall.
    Shank will share his story Sunday, Sept. 1, in three services at Eastside Church of Christ.
    Services will be open to the public and are at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

Either time is fine.
