6-7 Church Briefs

  •  All Saints’ Episcopal
This is a very special Sunday at All Saints’. Bishop Bruce MacPherson will be here and eleven individuals from our congregation will reaffirm their baptismal promises in a special Confirmation Service. There will be a reception after our morning service to celebrate this event.
At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the Re-Entry Coalition will meet in the Youth Room. At 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, there will be a Parish Game Night in the Youth Room. All are welcome to come — snacks and desserts will be available.
A new Sunday class will begin at 9 a.m. June 16 called “Coffee with the Rector” and will run all summer. The class is intended to be an open forum of questions and discussions. This is a great way to get to know the church and ask your questions. No reservation is required and nursery will be available at this time. Morning worship follows this informal class. Come and check it out.
At 5 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month during the summer, All Saints’ will be having a contemporary service in the Chapel, followed by a fellowship meal.
  •  Unitary Missionary Baptist
The Adult II Sunday school class will be studying from 1 Samuel Chapter 2 - A Derelict Father. There are classes for all ages and a Sunday night service.
Unity will have Vacation Bible School from 6-8:45 p.m. Monday-Friday under the direction of Pastor David McCallister. The theme is Son West Roundup for ages pre-k through 6th grade.
The closing exercises will be Friday, June 14. After the services, there will be a fun time for the youth on the north parking lot with inflatable fun games. Refreshments will be served.
Music will be lead by Dennis Johnson Sunday. Nursery provided.
  •  First Christian
On Sunday, Rev. Arnold Nelson will deliver the sermon at the morning worship services in the Sanctuary. His sermon is titled “Why Would Someone Do That?” with scripture text Luke 7:11-17.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
