    West Side Christian Church is not new to Duncan, it has been around since 1953. Its pastor, however, Fred Rider, is.

    Phone calls can be a nuisance, but for Dr. Brad McCoy, it is an opportunity to display character and stewardship.
    McCoy quipped “Where else is the pastor going to answer the phone? Rick Warren won’t answer his phone.”
  • Christmas Eve Mass affected, but not canceled
    Isaiah 40:31 says “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
  • Quilting for a just cause
    Quilting and excitement may not always go hand in hand, but for the quilters at Wesley and Velma United Methodist Churches, it’s not about excitement, it’s about giving back to the community and fellowship. The quilters recently raised $1,250 for the Velma Volunteer Fire Department.
    Wesley and Velma UMC operate under the pastoral leadership of Linda Lusnia. They have had a quilting group since December of 1990.
